I Don’t Mind You Being Ugly and Blind
Chapter 86
A sense of dampness on her eyelids was all Su Yue registered as Jiang Ci finally released her,on her eyes as she fluttered open. "The doctor said your wound was inflamed and which results in high fever," she whispered, her voice laced with concern. "You didn't tell me about your injury." She knew, with a certainty that chilled her, that he must have sensed the danger around him , which was why he’d dispatched two skilled assistants to her aid.
Jiang Ci met her gaze, his eyes trailing over her kissed, now increasingly moist, eyelids. He licked the corner of his lips, a lazy, indifferent drawl escaping him. "I was careless for a while."
"Let me see," she urged, her worry palpable. She had no idea how severe his injury truly was.
A faint twitch played on the corners of Jiang Ci's lips. "If you want to see it, you can but promise me you won't shed any tears." The subtle saltiness on his tongue was, surprisingly, not unwelcome.
Su Yue sat up, then gently lifted the quilt covering Jiang Ci. Her fingers trembled slightly as she pulled up the hem of his blue and white medical gown. There, on his lower waist, was a bandage, stark white against his skin. Carefully, she peeled back the gauze. [Read More Here]
The skin around the wound was a fiery red, clearly inflamed from being soaked in the rain.
"It must be painful," Su Yue murmured, a pang of sympathy in he heart that prevent her from reaching out to touch him.
Jiang Ci's gaze remained fixed on her face. He observed her for a moment before speaking, his voice slow and deliberate. "It doesn't hurt now."
Su Yue's dark, water-filled eyes met his, a silent plea for truth.
"Okay, it hurts," Jiang Ci conceded, raising his clasped hands. He stretched languidly. "My hands hurt too. Su Yue, you have to take good care of me from now on."
"Rest assured," Su Yue responded, nodding her head.
Just then, Sheng Yan returned, carrying a bag of food. as she called ot "Mr. Jiang."
Su Yue inwardly praised Sheng Yan's thoughtfulness. Dusk had settled, and Jiang Ci must be hungry. "I'll do it," Su Yue said, stepping forward to take the bag. Sheng Yan had chosen light, easily digestible food, perfect for someone injured and recovering from a fever. "It's hard work for you. You haven't eaten yet; hurry up and have something to eat." The day's events, the running and the fright, would have exhausted anyone.
"Yes," Sheng Yan replied, ever perceptive. Understanding that Jiang Ci and Su Yue needed their privacy, she discreetly exited the ward.
Su Yue turned to Jiang Ci. "Would you like to eat rice or drink porridge?" Sheng Yan, always thinking ahead, had prepared both rice and porridge.
"Whatever, you feed me anyway," Jiang Ci stated, his tone matter-of-fact.
"Okay."
Su Yue carefully arranged the dishes on the bedside counter. She picked up the bowl of fragrant mushroom chicken porridge, sprinkled with chopped green onions. Though it had been cooked for a while, it was still warm. She scooped a spoonful, blew on it gently until it cooled, then brought it to Jiang Ci's thin lips.
Perhaps Jiang Ci truly was hungry, for he ate quickly. In what felt like no time at all, he took Su Yue's hand, guiding it until the entire bowl of porridge was consumed.
"Do you still want it?" Su Yue asked, reaching for a tissue to gently wipe the corner of his mouth.
"Yeah," Jiang Ci murmured, his eyes fixed on her slender, white fingertips, so tenderly dabbing his lips. He sensed a shift in Su Yue. Usually, when he instructed her to kiss him, hug him, or engage in any intimacy, there was a hint of reluctance. Now, seeing her dark eyes so utterly focused on him, Jiang Ci's lips curled into a faint smile. No matter how she changed, she was still, irrevocably, his.
Su Yue opened the lid of the second bowl of porridge and continued to feed Jiang Ci, occasionally offering him some of the refreshing green vegetables. It wasn't until the second bowl was nearly empty that Jiang Ci seemed satisfied.
Su Yue poured him a glass of water, helping him take a few sips before finally asking, "You haven't told me why you're here all of a sudden." He hadn't mentioned anything about visiting.
"The company just invested in your film, and it's normal for me to visit as an investor," Jiang Ci replied. His complexion had improved significantly after a bit of a rest , and the scar on the left side of his face no longer appeared so starkly pale.
"You're that investor?" Su Yue's eyes widened in surprise. She recalled telling Jiang Ci yesterday that the investor would be arriving today , but he had remained silent, keeping his secret. "Why are you investing in this movie?" As soon as the words left her mouth, Su Yue realized the foolishness of her question.
Jiang Ci simply snorted.
"Oh, you're so kind," Su Yue said, rolling her eyes playfully at Jiang Ci, with a smile tugging at her lips.
Jiang Ci instinctively reached out to pinch Su Yue's soft, smooth face, but then remembered his injured hand. Frustration flickered across his features. His hand, injured, was proving to be a terrible hindrance.
"Su Yue, I want to take a bath," Jiang Ci declared, a new spark of interest lighting his eyes. His eyebrows rose, and he spoke slowly, almost teasingly. "I'm covered in rain and mud; it's dirty.[Read More Here]
I want to take a bath. Don't say anything about finding a nurse. If so, I'll just show you, how angry can i be."
Su Yue's face flushed. "But your wound can't touch water."
Jiang Ci squinted at her. Her lack of outright refusal was promising. A subtle smile softened his usually cold gaze. "If you don't touch the water, you can't touch the water. You can help me wipe my body."
"Okay," Su Yue nodded.
Jiang Ci's faint gaze lingered on her face, seeking confirmation. Was she truly not shy now?
As this was a hospital in a small town, even the VIP ward couldn't compare to the facilities of a larger hospital's normal ward . The ward's bathroom was also small. So Su Yue moved a chair inside and asked Sheng Yan to purchase new towels and a bucket.
Inside the bathroom, the air was thick with the white mist of hot water vapor, making it feel a little too warm.
Jiang Ci, with his tall frame somewhat awkwardly perched on the small chair, seemed oblivious to his cramped surroundings. His long legs, usually so graceful, looked a little out of place. He sat there, leisurely, awaiting Su Yue to undress him.
"If you keep dawdling, the water will be cold," Jiang Ci said, a hint of impatience in his lazy voice, urging Su Yue who was filling the bucket with hot water.
"Okay," Su Yue replied, testing the water temperature. It was a little hot, but just right. He still had a high fever, so the water shouldn't be too cold.
Su Yue stepped in front of Jiang Ci. The bathroom was already small, and his height and size seemed to consume half of it, making the space feel even more confined. She crouched down, reaching out to unbutton his blue-and-white gown.
Jiang Ci's eyes lowered to watch her.
Su Yue's fingertips, delicate as jade, were beautiful, slender as scallions.
Her movements, as she unbuttoned his shirt , were a little slow. This time, Jiang Ci made no move to rush her. Instead, he leaned back, relaxed, and seemed to enjoy the moment.
"Straighten your hand," she instructed. Su Yue’s pale face had a rosy tint now , perhaps from the warmth of the bathroom or perhaps due to their ambiguous posture. Still she carefully helped Jiang Ci out of his shirt , making sure not to touch his injured hand.
After hanging his clothes on a hook, Su Yue remained crouched, attempting to help Jiang Ci remove his hospital pants. "Jiang Ci, you have to stand up for it."
Jiang Ci's lips curved into a smile. As he cooperated willingly. "Hmm." His tall body straightened.
The bathroom seemed to shrink further, the water vapor intensifying, creating a foggy haze.
Her fingertips trembled with increasing intensity. Su Yue touched his waist, pursed her lips, and glanced to the side. Suddenly, with a decisive pull, Su Yue yanked Jiang Ci's trousers down.
Jiang Ci casually kicked the fallen trousers aside. He looked down at Su Yue, his dark eyes were bright like a star now . "Continue?"
"No," Su Yue replied immediately, without thinking. Inadvertently, her eyes landed on his black underwear. Her face flushed even deeper. The heat in the room, combined with a slight dizziness, overwhelmed her. "Sit down quickly, or the water will be cold." She pretended not to notice the amusement dancing in Jiang Ci's eyes.
Jiang Ci didn't continue to tease her. After all, startling her too much at once wouldn't be good. Some things were best not rushed. He preferred an interesting process, one that unfolded slowly.
The towel was new. Su Yue had already wet and wrung it out, dipping it into the bucket of hot water. As the steaming towel touched Jiang Ci's upper body, Su Yue felt his muscles instinctively tense, then slowly relax.
She lowered her eyes, her gaze tracing his upper body, carefully avoiding his wound as she gently wiped the other areas.
"You're too weak; are you scratching an itch?" Jiang Ci commented, with a hint of disdain in his voice. Her touch was so gentle, it made him itch with a desire to bite her. Su Yue's head was still lowered, her long black hair revealing a gleaming white neck, slender and beautiful. He yearned to take a bite.
Su Yue applied more pressure to her hands. Jiang Ci's body was lean but remarkably strong, with well-defined muscles and clear contours. She wondered how he trained.
When the towel reached the area of his injury, she instinctively softened her touch. But before she could fully indulge in pity, the blatant display below him proved too distracting to see him as an injured person.
"Be restrained," Su Yue whispered, pursing her lips, unable to hold back her gentle scolding.
"What?" Jiang Ci raised his eyebrows smugly, looking at her with a faint smile.
Su Yue didn't dare to look down anymore . The dark, prominent area below his waist was too audacious. Her face burned. She could only rise and move behind Jiang Ci.
Jiang Ci allowed her to do so. After a moment, he spoke again , his voice now surprisingly low, offering a rare explanation: "Don't be afraid. It likes you and greets you whenever he saw you." He always wanted to leave a good impression of it on her, for future encounters.
It likes you and greets you…
Su Yue wiped his back for a while, and the meaning of his words slowly dawned on her. Her snow-white face turned a deep crimson, as if blood would drip from it any moment .
Jiang Ci's back was aesthetically pleasing. With the slightest tension, his muscle lines became defined, a harmonious blend of strength and beauty. The temperature in the bathroom continued to rise. After what felt like an eternity, she finished wiping Jiang Ci's back.
"It's all done now ," Su Yue declared, her forehead and face glistening with fine sweat ,as strands of hair clung to her skin, lending her a disheveled beauty.
"You can't do things halfway. You still have legs area left," Jiang Ci said, shaking his long legs that seemed to have nowhere to comfortably rest.
Su Yue glanced at Jiang Ci. His dark eyes glowed with an inner light, his thin lips slightly curved. He was no longer the wild, almost deranged figure she had seen in the mud. This was how he should look.
She crouched before him, and inadvertently, her gaze fell upon that audacious area again. She tried to ignore it, wringing out the hot towel and placing it on his lap. Pursing her lips, she whispered, "Then don't shake it at will." It was truly too annoying.
"I didn't shake it," Jiang Ci countered, his head lowered, observing Su Yue's slightly puffed-up face. Her black eyes, desperate to look but afraid to, had nowhere to settle. Tsk, he thought, she's actually so cute and pathetic. [Read More Here]
So innocent, those dark eyes half-squinted. Scoff! He desperately wanted to corrupt her innocent self.
Su Yue had long been familiar with Jiang Ci's legs. The considerable hair on his calves was, to her, unattractive, a stark contrast to the handsome contours of his face. It was entirely different from her own smooth legs. Unable to resist, she playfully teased him, "Your legs are so hairy, so ugly, and thorny. My legs are much prettier than yours."
Jiang Ci raised his eyebrows. He took the towel from her hand, tossed it into the bucket, then pulled her up, settling her onto his thigh. "Let me see," he said slowly. He knew her legs were beautiful—slender, straight, fair, and smooth. No wonder she disliked his.
In the hospital ward on the next floor, many people injured in the landslide had been admitted, including several actresses, some seriously injured and undergoing rescue.
When Chu Mengyun was brought in, her consciousness was still flickering. She scanned the injured, a chilling realization dawning on her: Su Yue was not among them.
