"A Decade of Silent Love—Exposed by the Bullet Screens"

                                          Chapter 7

"Sister!" Shi Qingyin's voice was similar to a choked cry, her eyes swimming with unshed tears, portraying a picture of pure, unadulterated victimhood. It was her usual act, a transparent plea for pity.

Shi Ning, however, was not moved today rather a sneer twisted her lips. "Enough with the theatrics. Qin Heye isn't here, so drop the act. What's wrong ? Why are you here? Did something happned to   my family ?"

Shi Qingyin seemed taken aback by Shi Ning's unusually harsh tone, but her urgency quickly overshadowed any lingering questions. "Uncle found out  about you and Qin Heye having  a divorce agreement, and yesterday was the last day of it . He was so furious he nearly fainted!" she blurted out, her words tumbling over each other. "He even threatened to disown you, to sever all ties if you dared to go through with it.[Read More Here] I begged him for ages before he finally calmed down."

Shi Qingyin, her cousin, was merely a few months younger than Shi Ning. Their relationship, once close, had frayed over the years. Shi Qingyin had moved into the Shi family home at ten and, with her sweet disposition and honeyed words, quickly charmed everyone—including a younger Shi Ning. But looking back now, Shi Ning realized a disturbing pattern: her relationship with her father had steadily deteriorated since Shi Qingyin's arrival. Every encounter became a battle, a bitter argument between her and her father .

The final rupture came three years ago when her father, without a second thought for her feelings, "sold" her into a marriage with the Qin family for a hefty 300 million yuan dowry. That act had severed their bond. She blocked his calls, ignored his messages, and hadn't spoken to him since, not even for holidays or when she was ill. Shi Qingyin became their sole intermediary, passing along the messages on both sides .

But now, a chilling thought settled in Shi Ning's mind: was her father truly the villain she believed him to be?

"Only four people knew about the marriage agreement," Shi Ning said, her gaze fixed on Shi Qingyin, a flicker of suspicion in her eyes. "How did my dad suddenly find out?"

Shi Qingyin visibly faltered, then, with a well-practiced show of guilt, explained, "Today, while the servants were cleaning, one of them accidentally found your divorce agreement in my room , and Uncle knew about it through her ! Sister, I didn't mean for it to happen. I hid it so well, but..."

"Then you did it on purpose," Shi Ning interrupted, her voice flat, devoid of emotion. There were three copies of the agreement: one for her, one for Qin Heye, and one that Shi Qingyin had kept. It had been hidden for three years, only to be "discovered" just as the divorce date arrived, despite her not having divorced Qin Heye? The coincidence was too glaring to ignore.

Shi Qingyin, trailing behind Shi Ning, simply mumbled apologies. "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I truly didn't mean it."

Shi Ning picked up her handbag, her eyes sweeping over Shi Qingyin, who was bowing and nodding in a show of profound regret. Shi Ning lifted her chin slightly. "If you're truly sorry, why not get on your knees and kowtow twice? That would be far more sincere."

Shi Qingyin froze, her eyes widening in disbelief. Slowly, tears began to well up again, her carefully constructed façade threatening to crumble. Online comments, likely from a live stream, erupted, condemning Shi Ning for her "viciousness" and demanding she "log off."

Finding the entire display tiresome, Shi Ning turned and walked away.

"Where are you going, sister?" Shi Qingyin hurried to catch up.

"Home."

Shi Qingyin stumbled to a halt, astonished. "But Uncle is so angry and ill! It's not a good time for you to go back."

Shi Ning glanced back at her, a knowing glint in her eyes. "You rushed to find me, didn't you, just to drag me back and deliver the 'good news' to my 'scumbag' father that I haven't divorced, to make him happy?"

No! Shi Qingyin's mind screamed, but the words wouldn't leave her lips. All she could manage was to ask, "Is my sister truly not going to divorce Qin Heye?"

Just then, Lin Han, Shi Ning's driver and bodyguard, pulled up in a sleek Maybach. Dressed in a black suit with  white gloves, he opened the car door with a flourish, his hand resting respectfully on the roof.

Shi Ning, with an elegant movement, ducked into the car. "Yeah," she replied, a faint smile playing on her lips.

Shi Qingyin quickly followed, sitting beside her, still perplexed. "Why the sudden change of heart, sister? Isn't the three-year marriage period over?"

Shi Ning tilted her head, then, with a mischievous grin, pointed to a tell-tale kiss mark on her neck. "Because," she announced, her smile widening, "I got impressed by his skills ."

Squeal!

The car, which Lin Han had just started, lurched to a halt. His face went pale. "Miss Shi, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry," he stammered.[Read More Here] Shi Ning had a notorious temper, known for firing staff at the slightest provocation. He was her 131st driver in three years.

Shi Ning merely hummed in response, offering no threat of dismissal. Than Lin Han let out a quiet sigh of relief as his hanging heart settled  .

Shi Qingyin, however, looked as though she'd been struck by lightning. She stared at Shi Ning, utterly unable to comprehend such "shameless" words. How could someone who had been clamoring for divorce for three years suddenly decide against it because of a single night? She couldn't wrap her mind around it.

Her eyes fell on the kiss marks, visible even through Shi Ning's attempts to cover them with powder. Shi Qingyin shuddered, imagining Qin Heye, a man so typically cold, noble, and ascetically reserved that people barely dared to look at him, let alone blaspheme him with impure thoughts. How daring he must have been in bed—a thought she wouldn't even dream of!

"Sister, what are you saying?" Shi Qingyin bit her lip, her voice barely a whisper.

Shi Ning raised an eyebrow, her gaze unwavering. "I said I won't divorce because Qin Heye slept with me. Do you understand now?"

Shi Qingyin's voice rose to a shrill shriek. "Sister, how can you do this?! Are you worthy of Brother Xizhou?!"

Shi Ning burst out laughing. "I slept with my husband. What does Shen Xizhou have to do with it? He's your fiancé, my future brother-in-law. If you enjoy being cuckolded, go find someone else to cuckold you. Don't drag me into it. I don't have a habit of eating garbage."

Shi Qingyin stared blankly, wondering who this changed Shi Ning was. "Sister, don't you like Brother Xizhou anymore?"

"Nope. I'm rewarding him to you," Shi Ning replied calmly, her tone dismissive, as if she were discarding something worthless and handing it over to a "garbage recycling station."

Shi Qingyin's lips trembled. She glanced at Lin Han, then, with a forced smile, began, "Sister must be speaking in anger. It's okay, sister. Brother Xizhou won't dislike you for losing your virginity..."

Shi Ning cut her off, her patience clearly gone. "Brother Xizhou, Brother Xizhou—are you a broken record? And 'he won't dislike me for losing my virginity'? Who is Shen Xizhou to dislike me? Is it even his place?"

Shi Qingyin looked utterly bewildered. "Sister..."

"Lin Han, stop the car."

Still within the Qin family manor, Lin Han slammed on the brakes. With practiced efficiency, he opened the back door and gestured politely. "Miss Shi, if you please."

Shi Ning raised an eyebrow at Shi Qingyin. "You talk too much nonsense. Get out."

"Sister..."

With a swift kick of her foot, Shi Ning sent Shi Qingyin tumbling out of the car. Lin Han, equally swiftly, closed the door, returned to the driver's seat, and pressed the accelerator. All that was left for a stunned Shi Qingyin was the Maybach's exhaust fumes.

Shi Qingyin's jaw dropped. What had happened to Shi Ning? Was she truly not going to divorce?

Biting her lip, Shi Qingyin pulled out her phone and made a call.

"Uncle," she began, her voice carefully crafted to sound distressed. "I couldn't persuade my sister. She said if you don't agree to her divorce from Qin Heye, she'll commit suicide right in front of you." A pause, then, with a fabricated sigh of relief, "After all my persuasion, my sister is finally willing to go back to see you."

"Uncle, please don't go against my sister. For her sake, you should pretend to agree to her divorce for now. But she can't leave empty-handed. She needs to share the 10 billion yuan property." Another pause, then a conspiratorial whisper, "Yes, we're all doing this for my sister's sake. Uncle, don't tell her this was my idea. Otherwise, she won't confide in me anymore, and I won't be able to help you."
