"A Decade of Silent Love—Exposed by the Bullet Screens"

                                             Chapter 8

As Shi Ning stepped into the hushed quiet of the hospital, the first thing that welcomed her were the  air thick with the faint scent of antiseptic. She turned to Lin Han, who stood by the sleek Maybach and said . "Wait for me here."

Lin Han's eyes widened in surprise. "You... you're going to go back with me  ?" For three years, Shi Ning's pattern was clear: once she left the Qin family estate, she rarely, if ever, returned. She'd often stay away for ten days, even half a month, refusing to be called "Mrs. Qin" or "Young Lady.[Read More Here] " It was as if her marriage to Qin Heye was a closely guarded secret.

Shi Ning merely hummed, her gaze briefly flickering over him. "Don't ask questions. And don't do it again!"

Lin Han, acutely aware of his precarious position as her 131st driver in three years, quickly lowered his head. "Yes," he mumbled. Once Shi Ning had vanished inside, he exhaled slowly, a long-held breath escaping his lips. After a moment's hesitation, he pulled out his phone and sent a quick message to Qin Heye.

Lin Han: Second Mis shi  is here to see the young lady.

Meanwhile, in a high-rise conference room, Qin Heye raised a hand, pausing the ongoing meeting. "Ten-minute break," he announced, his voice devoid of emotion. He then opened his phone, clicking on the single, most important chat in his messages. Day after day, for three years, there was only one conversation: Shi Ning's meticulous countdown to their divorce. Yesterday's message was the last—the final number, followed by the divorce agreement itself. She'd asked him to confirm if there were any issues, ready to print, sign, and finalize everything.

A deep frown creased Qin Heye's brow, his eyes clouding over. No one could tell what tumultuous thoughts churned beneath his composed exterior.

At that very moment, Shi Ning was stepping into the hospital elevator. A sudden impulse prompted her to send a message to Qin Heye.

Shi Ning: Are you there?

This was it. Beyond the relentless divorce countdown, this was her first actual greeting to him. And it came right after the countdown had reached zero!

Qin Heye shot upright in his chair, his phone suddenly feeling like a burning ember in his hand. He was so startled he almost dropped it. The sheer implication of that message! He completely missed Lin Han's subsequent message.

Pei Qianhuo, Qin Heye's special assistant  also felt the sudden, drastic drop in the room's temperature. It felt as if the thermostat had plummeted by a hundred and eighty degrees. He shivered, terrified. It was a familiar chill, the kind that radiated from Master Qin when his mood turned frigid.

The young lady is talking about divorce again! Pei Qianhuo thought, his mind reeling. Why is Shi Ning so… deranged? She was married to the richest man, yet she constantly pursued this insane idea of divorce! With Qin Ye's boundless protection and resources, she could attend any top university she desired. If she craved wealth and a career, Qin Ye could pour tens of billions into her ventures, ensuring her success as a powerful woman. And if she simply wanted to be a pampered wife, she could sleep in a sprawling two-hundred-square-meter bedroom until she woke naturally, have designer clothes delivered to her door, and enjoy at-home spa treatments from the finest beauticians! Everything she could ever want was at her fingertips. Why, then, did she obsess over divorce three hundred and sixty-five days a year?

For hardworking people like him, it was just another day of wanting to throttle the obscenely rich!

Back at the hospital, Shi Ning exited the elevator, still without a reply from Qin Heye. She idly scrolled through their chat history.[Read More Here] As Shi Ning stepped into the hushed quiet of the hospital, the first thing that welcomed her were the  air thick with the faint scent of antiseptic. She'd often stay away for ten days, even half a month, refusing to be called "Mrs. Qin" or "Young Lady.[Read More Here] Every morning, without fail, she'd send, "X days left until divorce." And Qin Heye's replies were always the same, a terse, "Yeah."

Shi Ning sighed. Their three years of marriage felt more like living with a distant roommate. They were practically strangers, a fact she found both astonishing and frustrating. And Qin Heye, that subtly alluring man! He’d been secretly in love with her for a decade, yet he managed to maintain such a cold exterior, never fighting for her affection or their relationship.

She glanced around, noting the steady flow of patients, doctors, and nurses. There were no more strange, intrusive comments scrolling across her vision, the "barrage" of her previous reality. Taking a deep breath, she decided to just call him.

Qin Heye was still puzzling over the meaning of Shi Ning's "Are you there?" when his phone suddenly blared to life.

"Husband, husband, I love you..."

The ringtone, a cheesy, saccharine tune, blared from a phone that hadn't rung in three years.

Pei Qianhuo's head snapped up, his eyes bulging as he stared at Qin Heye. "What kind of archaic ringtone is that?" he thought, his jaw slack. And on his perpetually stone-faced, intimidating Qin Ye, of all people!
